Becoming a Butterfly

 Inspired

Just when I am at my lowest, I will see something that inspires me. Diana Dixon came through Montgomery a few days ago to visit her son. She rode her 1999 Harley Davidson Three wheeler. She is on the way to Fairbanks, Alaska on her Harley and hopes to get there by June 18th, her 70th Birthday ! She hopes that she has everything that she needs for her trip, including a front pouch for her lipstick and her hairbrush. A trailer is full to the brim with things that she will need inclucing a tent, campstove, rain gear and sleeping bag. She isn't quite alone on her trip though. She has " Harley", a stuffed bear strapped to the back seat. She plans on staying off the interstates and taking back roads and Route 66. She wants to be able to stop and see "The Real America". Diana moved to Alabama in 1969 to help her husband raise Soy Beans. He died of a heart attack at age 37 and left her with four children to raise. The Soy bean Farm went Belly up and she had to do many things to raise and educate her kids. This trip is something that she has always wanted to do. Good for her. She has inspired me. That is one reason that I love America. You can always hear something inspirational. There is always someone that has been through worse than you are going through. There is always something to make you feel " I'll be Ok". Or "things won't always be this bad". Godspeed Diana. I hope that you will be safe and that this trip fullfills you. You have given me hope.

 People are Strange !!

As you know, I LOVE weird headlines but this one takes the cake. In Concord, New Hampshire, a man is fighting the courts to get back a "mummified" baby that he says is a family Heirloom. Charles Peavey says that the mummy ( whose name is Baby John) has been in the family for decades. The police confiscated the baby about a year ago after someone heard talk about a dead baby. A Detective said that there is nothing that proves who the baby was or how it died. "It's believed to be a male child, very young, possibly a stillborn" the detective reports. Mr. Peavy is taking the case to court to get the baby returned to him. Family lore says that his great-great uncle had an affair with a woman that died in childbirth and the baby died as well. Mr. Peavy's neice Jennifer, is next in line to get 'the heirloom" and is just as commited to getting it back. She says, " regardless if he's blood related or not, he's been in our family. He's been passed down".

How scary is that? I'm really glad that they don't live next door to me !!

 Lauren and Sam's mother

On December 20th of last year , Lauren and Sam were excited about Christmas. They crept down the stairs at night and shook the packages under the tree. They counted them over and over to make sure that they both got the same number of presents. They were proud of thier tree. It was the first Christmas tree that they decorated "all by themselves". On December 20th of last year, school was out for the holidays and life seemed good. They had written thier list for Santa and hidden it away from thier parents prying eyes. They put a secret on the list. A secret that only Santa could know, would understand. It was a request for thier mamma. For Christmas that year, they wanted Santa to take away thier momma's black eyes. They wanted Santa to help mamma not to fall 'down anymore'. They had a secret wish for thier daddy too. Lauren and Sam wanted Santa to make thier daddy quit drinking. That way they would have a happy home. Momma wouldn't cry anymore and daddy wouldn't yell. Maybe they wouldn't hear "the banging sounds" when they went to bed at night. On December 20th of last year, they went to bed happy and full of hope. On December 21st of last year Lauren and Sam's mamma was murdered by thier daddy. She was such a good mamma too. She had long black hair and told them stories and made them cookies. Sometimes at night, she would come into thier bedroom and curl up with them and go to sleep. On December 21st of last year, Lauren heard her momma screaming , saying " No, Please don't" and then she heard nothing. Lauren ran into her momma and daddy's bedroom and saw her momma on the floor covered in blood. She saw her daddy standing over her mamma with a big knife, a big bloody knife. She was afraid and started crying. Lauren's daddy looked at her, threw down the knife and ran out of the house. Her momma didn't move. Ever again. Lauren has nightmares almost every night. Lauren's life will never be the same. Sam just wants to know why Santa didn't answer thier wish list. He doesn't believe in Santa anymore. He doesn't believe in anything. Perhaps he never will.

 Chat Room

Last night I was very bored and lonely so I signed on to my computer. It said that there were 6 people in the chat room. I was hoping that it was some of my blogstream friends. I was immediately confronted by someone named Macey? who tried her hardest to be difficult and rude to me. Now bear in mind that I have NO clue who this person is and would have been very nice to her. I wasn't given a chance. It took me back to the days of playground bullies. You know, the time when someone was always mean to the new kids. Now, I realize that it is thier insecurities that cause them to act that way, but still... it's sad for them. I chose not to waste anymore time around someone like that and I signed off. I also have to say that Belle and Harbour? were VERY nice to me. It is not a good reflection on adults when they act that way, and I had to wonder how insecure this person is? If someone is secure with themselves, they have NO need to try and put down others. Just wanted to share my experience in chat and I probably won't go back.
